Over 500 drivers arrested for reckless driving

Over 500 drivers have been arrested and fined in the Fiika Salama Operation mounted along Kampala-Masaka high way for the last eight days. The operation seeks to crack whip on reckless drivers.

The Police Spokesperson for the Katonga region, Phillip Mukasa said the operation shall continue to minimise accidents on the high way.

"Many of them have been fined by court and have paid various fines as prescribed in the law.
We also have many cases of PMCs and careless driving in the night but this operation is still going on. That implies that there's a lot of indiscipline on the road, people do not care about adhering to laws of Uganda to make sure they drive safely on the road," he said.
