Indian Association to aid heart surgery

Murtuza Dalal made these remarks during a Press briefing on India day celebrations at the association offices on Lumumba Avenue.

The Indian Association of Uganda is aiding 10 children for heart surgery in India this year, Murtuza Dalal ,the chairman Board  of trustees of the association said.

 The India day celebration is an event that coincides with Indian Independence Day every year on August, 20.

Murtuza said that the event will have a touch of socio-cultural entertainment for communities that will assist in raising funds for various projects.

He also added   that 100 Ugandan students will receive scholarship for vocational training in addition, the association will also carry out blood donations and free medical camps.

Sh50million has also been put aside to cater for natural calamities like disasters especially in Eastern and western parts of the country.

During the celebrations there will be live musical concert by renowned Bollywood music composer duo "Salim Suleiman" besides Vipul Mehta, Bhoomi Trivedi and Raj Pandit alongside Interactive exhibits.

There will be other performances highlighting diverse culture of India by participants from communities of Indian Diaspora in Uganda.
