Wine enthusiasts taste and learn about wine

The African Wine Traders hosted a number of wine connoisseurs to a wine tasting event at the Bistro, Kisementi last Thursday.

The evening started lazily, with wine enthusiasts trickling in accompanied by friends, but mostly in couples.

A substantial number of them were whites. And those who weren't white had similar accents. It was hard to tell whether there was any Ugandan in the house.

And they'd come together to taste an assortment of wine brands brewed by seasoned wine maker, John Hooper of Mount Vernon, Stellenbosch, South Africa. It was also an opportunity for those in attendance to ask him questions about the processes through which brands like Sweet Lips, Mt Vernon are made.

The ingredients that distinguish one wine, say  sweet wine from dry wine. There were also random questions asked by those appearing to have a more sophisticated taste in wine.

 

Entertainment would come later on in the night, in form of a sophisticated-classy-woman-turned-tipsy-baby!

A woman who had come in breezing in her high heels could barely stand on her feet. This spectacle was the highlight of the night for the normal soul. But for the wine lovers, it was a night they'd remember for getting an education from a wine expert, John Hooper.
