University student found dead in hostel

A 23-year-old student of Gulu University has been found dead in his hostel room.

Gulu police are now trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of Kizito Aliti, a fifth year student of medicine.

It's not yet clear who specifically found him dead inside his room but what is known is that he was found lying in his own vomit but with no external injury to his body.

The hostel where he was staying is Agira Hostel located in Laroo division, Gulu municipality.

Some people who claim to have interacted with him hours before his death said Aliti had complained of a stomachache.

James Asubu, the officer in charge of investigations at Gulu Central Police Station, said the student's body was taken to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.
