Sky Sport Academy defeated Nyangole Rangers from Tororo 2-0 to win the City Tyres U-14 Chenga Challenge Champions title in Mbale on Saturday.

The Mbale side beat Eagles from Soroti 2-0 in the semis final.

The Saturday event in Mbale was the fourth consecutive regional championship. Kampala, Mukono and Kabale conducted their regional championship two weeks ago.

Karamoja region will have the opportunity to host this year's finals in Moroto town on September 9-10. The national under-14 football championship is organized by friends of football (FOF).

The Kampala, Mukono, Kabale and Mbale meet kicked off a two month campaign that will involve over 35000 players from the 11 regions in Uganda. Central region are defending champions of the event that was last held in 2014.

Since its inception in 1998, the City Tyres Chenga Challenge has been the breeding ground for the national players like Denis Onyango,Farouk Miya and Mike Mutyaba.
