"I am really disappointed that none of the division mayors is present here."

ENTEBBE - The Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago has been angered by the absence of division mayors at a recent induction to address pertinent issues affecting the city.

"I am really disappointed that none of the division mayors is present here and my views were not included in the agenda of the meeting."

He said this at the opening of an induction of new councilors and mayors at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe.

Lukwago, who had been out of office since 2013, also accused Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) putting together the performance report of the last five years without involving him.

"Do I have to sit with the technical team and prepare a report for the last five years?"

He went on to question the type of facilitators that were called to address the councilors. "We would have got people with a wealth of experience who understand relevant laws for example the president of Uganda Law Society."

Meanwhile, Beti Kamya (picture above), the minister for KCCA, warned the politicians against fighting each other for supremacy. "It's time to serve the citizens. The elections are over."

She appealed to the authority officials to deliver services to the city dwellers.

At the same meet attended by KCCA's technical team, executive director Jennifer Musisi decried the vandalism of city facilities and property.

David Katungi, a National Planning Authority official, assured that Uganda's Vision 20140 is achievable.
