Byaruhanga, Kiconco win inaugural Crane Golf Open

Proceeds from the event will be channelled to saving the endangered national bird
James Byaruhanga and Annete Kiconco set the tone after pulling victories in the inaugural Crane Golf annual tournament over the weekend.
Byaruhanga emerged top in the men's category with 43 points while Kiconco proved best in the ladies bracket after collecting 34 points.
The one day event was organized by conservation agency, Nature Uganda as a way of partnering with the golf fraternity in promoting conservation of environment in Uganda.
Proceeds from the event will be channelled to saving the endangered national bird, the Uganda Crane, symbol of declining biodiversity in Uganda.
Nature Uganda, an organization that was established in Uganda in 1901 carries out research and public awareness about conservation.
