About 20 youth headed by Jonan Okot demonstrated calling for an end about leadership row in Lango culture foundation.

A section of youth in Lira town took to the street to protest a decision made by Lango paramount chief, Yosam Odur to fire Engineer Micheal Odongo Okune as the head of Langi in the diaspora.

About 20 youth headed by Jonan Okot demonstrated calling for an end about leadership row in Lango culture foundation.

They were armed with placard reading; Lango can do without the paramount chief, row in Lango cultural institution should end, we love the head of Langi in diaspora and youth for engineer Odongo Okune.

Lango chief on Tuesday took a decision and sacked Odongo claiming he is fighting to kick him out of leadership. A single sacking was announced at the burial of Filder Olobo, his son`s wife who died in Kenya last week.

However in an interview with one of the radio station Odongo disagreed with the sacking saying he would continue his role normally.

Okot said they wanted Odongo Okune to succeed the paramount chief if he retires at appropriate time but not to bring him down.

"The decision the paramount chief took doesn't create unity among the people of Lango, he said on Wednesday,"   he added.

Olet Magezi clan leader of Arak Ocola said Lango used not to have the head of the tribe in the diaspora which means the sacking of Odongo Okune is not a problem.

Two months ago Lango chief, Odur held a meeting with a section of clan leaders loyal to him to draft the constitution of the chiefdom while Odongo was conducted another parallel meeting to set condition to elect another chief.
