Meet Amaani, Kabale's rising music guru

I don't know if you have been paying attention lately but the music coming from western part of Uganda is amazing, if you understand the language, of course but even if you didn't, music is music.

Mbarara has for the last 2 years or so been in love with their own artistes like Ray G and Megatone but Kabale is not sleeping either.

There are two artistes in Kabale that are causing a stir and have fast become household names; Shine Omukiga and Amaani Amanigger.

 Amaani is such a big force that he is even invited to weddings to just rap and make people happy even when he doesn't have any wedding songs.

A new music label called SHABEmpire opened up in the west and has since signed artistes like Shine Omukiga and CIA. Their latest acquisition is the rapper Amaani who is surely ripe for a bigger market. The rapper has won the following awards in his young career;

1 - Kigezi artiste of the year 2014 AGO EVENTS AWARDS [Rukungiri]

 2 - Kigezi artiste of the year 2015 ROYAL EVENTS AWARDS [Mbarara]

 3 - Kigezi artiste of the year 2015 KIMMA AWARDS [Kabale]

 4 - Western innovative and Organised Artiste of the year 2015 KIMMA AWARDS [Kabale]

 We reached him for a comment;

"I am very excited to sign under a music label and this time I am sure I will make Uganda listen to Rukiga and fall in love with it.  I want to put Runyankole/Rukiga on an international level like how Eddy Kenzo did at the recent BET awards. To my fans, expect more from Amaani because i believe in myself"
