Centenary Bank serves Iftar dinner

The Iftar is the evening meal after sunset that concludes the daily fasting during the month of Ramadhan.


Centenary Bank hosted over 300 members of the Muslim fraternity to an Iftar dinner in celebration of the holy month of Ramadhan at Hotel Africana recently.

The Iftar is the evening meal after sunset that concludes the daily fasting during the month of Ramadhan. Observers around the world gather with families, loved ones, and communities to break their fast together.

The event was graced by Alhajj Dr Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu as the chief guest. In his speech, Prince Kassim Nakibinge thanked the administrators of the Catholic-founded bank for their support to the Muslim community with such gestures as the Iftar dinner and called on Muslims to stay strong in their faith.

"I call upon you to stay strong in your faith. Ramadhan is a month of solidarity, unity, patience and victory. From its humble beginnings, Centenary Bank is now one of the biggest and most competitive banks in the country and this makes us proud as Ugandans. This is what faith coupled with creativity can do," Nakibinge said.

Simon Kagugube, the bank's executive director thanked the Muslims for the continued support to the bank and pledged to continue supporting them in their endevours.

Muslims will celebrate  Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday.
