Gen. Moses Ali recuperating after a fortnight in hospital

The first deputy Prime minister designate Gen. Moses Ali is recuperating at his home in Naguru a city suburb after spending two weeks at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya.

A New Vision team paid Ali a courtesy visit on Thursday evening.

Although Gen. Ali looked a bit weak, he was happy to receive guests and effortlessly walked around his home.

For nearly 30 minutes during the visit, Ali looked relaxed and was in a jovial mood.

He constantly cracked jokes about how some media houses have not shown fairness on giving him coverage despite the fact that he has made enormous contributions to nation building over the years.

The General, known for donning military fatigues and expensive suits during public functions, was clad in a white tunic and sat calmly in his sofa set.

He also came off as a down-to-earth senior army officer during the encounter with New Vision journalists.

A local tabloid recently reported that Ali had been flown out of the country for urgent medical attention after slipping into a coma.

Ali said he was not happy with the false alarming reports about his life which said must have troubled his family and people back home.

"Look at me and report back to the public how I am.  Am I collapsing? I have a duty to tell the public about my health and there is no need to hide anything," he said.

Ali narrated that was admitted at St. Francis Hospital on May 20^th and was discharged on June 7^{th 2016}. He said he had issues with pressure and diabetes but that they were currently under control.

Showing a bandage wrapped around his right leg, Ali explained that he was nursing a wound resulting out of his diabetic situation.

Ali thanked the medical team under the supervision of Dr. Silver Bahendeka at Nsambya Hospital who took care of him and ensured that he recovered and returned home. He also praised God for His endless love and healing hand for him. 

On politics, he said he would be returning to his office as soon as he recovers and commended President Yoweri Museveni for elevating him to the position of first deputy premier.
