Miya scores for Standard Liege

Uganda Cranes player Farouk Miya scored his second goal for the Standard Liege on Sunday. Miya was on target as the Belgian giants thrashed KFC Heur-Tongeren 5-1 in the pre-season friendly.

The former Vipers player opened the floodgates before Benjamin Tetteh doubled the lead. Hugo Cuypers and Beni Badibanga and Alexander Scholz each scored to seal the victory.

This was the second time Miya is scoring for his side. Earlier in April, Miya scored his first goal for Standard Liege as they defeated Mouscron-Peruwelz 4-1  in the Belgium Pro League.

By March, Miya had lifted his first trophy with Standard Liege -the Belgium Cup -despite being an unused substitute in the 2-1 win over Club Brugge in the final.

The Ugandan international in May, signed a three-year deal to stay at Belgian side Standard Liege until June 2019. The youthful forward, who had been at Standard Liege since January on a $400,000 loan move from Vipers.
