Man held over wife's murder

Police in Mbarara has arrested a 24 year old man for allegedly assaulting his wife to death in Kisoro trading centre, Mirama parish, Rugando sub county  Rwampara County in Mbarara district over domestic violence.

Police investigations revealed that Allen Atuhaire a 24 year old a mother of single child was assaulted by her spouse Denis Bamusime, 24, on Saturday after developing a quarrel.

This prompted Bamusiime to assault her brutally, leaving her unconscious. Atuhaire managed to escape by crawling on her knees on Sunday, taking refuge at her mother in law's home.

She rushed Atuhaire to a nearby drug shop of one Robert Agaba where she died the following day at around 8am.
