President Yoweri Museveni has withdrawn UPC leader Ruth Achieng from his cabinet list following complaints from NRM MPs from the Northern region.
A source who is a member of the parliament appointments committee revealed that Achieng's name has been withdrawn.
The development followed a recent meeting in state house at the beginning of this week during which NRM leaders from the northern region led by Sam Engola met complained to the president for electing UPC members into the cabinet and leaving out NRM leaders.
The leaders reportedly asked the president to consider Sam Engola into the cabinet since he is the NRM vice chairman for the northern region.
In the previous cabinet Engola has been state minister for housing but had been dropped in the new cabinet. He has been the Erute South MP but lost his seat in the last general elections
