Mubarak Kizito has won a silver medal at the INBA/PNBA World Championship in Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness at the Érd Arena, Velencei Budapest, Hungary.

Competing for the first time as a professional Mr.Universe Ivan Byekwaso also picked a medal but finished 6th.

Competing in the 170cm short men category the 28 year old musclemen beat four other contestants to the silver including his fellow country man Ivan Byekwaso with whom he travelled for the championship.

Kizito reached the final alongside Thomas Tusore, Ivan Byekwaso, Brandon Lirio, Erve Fammoe and Vladimir Pecena with the Ugandans having gone through the preliminaries which had over 20 contestants.

"I'm so proud about us! My country Uganda! I put my country in 2nd position I got silver medal in open men. Thank you for your prayers all friends and fans, and main sponsor National council of sports," Kizito posted on his Facebook wall.

Byekwaso was also an elated man posting: "Ladies and gentlemen thanks for your prayers team Uganda placed 2rd in the world championship 2016," Byekwaso posted on his social media account.

It was the second time that Kizito was competing at this level, having won two medals in June last year medals at the International Natural Bodybuilding Association World Bodybuilding Championships in Dubai.

Then, he beat two opponents to the Gold in the finals of the 175cm short men competition after he had earlier beaten over 30 opponents to Gold in the preliminary amateur contest that preceded the finals at the Dubai Sports City Dome.

The Light Weight 67kg muscle man became the first Ugandan to win gold at the international level before Byekwaso's heroics. Kizito went to the Dubai competition having won the Mr. Kampala competition 2015.

On the other hand Byekwaso will in September be called on to defend the Mr. Universe Crown he won last year before he travels to Las Vegas and San Diego in November, to defend the World Cup and also at take another shot at the Natural Olympia crown respectively.

The two were sponsored to the event by National Council of Sports who gave them sh17m.
