Serere man held over health units theft

SERERE - A 23-year-old man suspected to have been stealing from health units in Bugondo sub-county in Serere district has been arrested.

A resident of Kamod town council, Bernard Okwerede is currently being held at Serere Central police Station.

Authorities searched his home and recovered three power inverters, a solar plate and battery, televisions and decks believed to have been stolen from the area health units.

According to Apollo Ewidu, the LC3 chairperson of Bugondo sub-county, many health facilities in the area have reported the loss of such items as found in Okwerede's home.
