Namirembe Cathedral Dean Rev. Can. Benon Kityo has requested people to shun human sacrifice adding that they cannot get wealth from it as they are being lied to.

Rev. Kityo's request comes just a few weeks after police arrested a man named Herbert with his 7-year-old brother's severed head.

Herbert at Police explained that he was to join the Illuminati cult where he said he was to earn superpowers, fame and wealth.

Giving a summon during a service at Namirembe Cathedral on Sunday Rev. Kityo said many people are misled that it is through human sacrifice that they can get quick wealth adding that it is only God who decides on when one is to get rich.

He further requested Christians to always stick to the church alone for blessings and urged them not to go to churches and shrines at the same time saying this kills their chances of receiving what they pray to God for.

In the same service, Rev. Kityo ordered Christians not to involve witchcraft in their work adding that the money they will get will be of sin, and therefore requested them to only entrust their work to God.

Namirembe Cathedral Vicar Rev. George William Kakooza in the same service revealed that the cathedral is in preparations to change its leadership to make church work move on smoothly.

After service, the congregation was given booklets teaching God's connection with the people on earth to help strengthen their faith in God and Christianity.

The service was also attended by former prime minister of Uganda Prof. Apolo Nsibambi.
