It was alleged that Obua would replace former KCCA FC assistant manager Sam Ssimbwa

KCCA FC has denied allegations that former Uganda Cranes striker David Obua is on the verge of joining the club's technical bench.

KCCA FC chairman Julius Kabugo told New Vision that they have not received any information from the manager Mike Mutebi about Obua joining the team.

"It's the manager who decides which person he can work with on the technical bench. As the club, we are willing to support him but at the moment we have not received any communication about Obua or any other person to join the technical team," Kabugo stated.

Earlier this month it was alleged that Obua would replace former KCCA FC assistant manager Sam Ssimbwa who was sacked.

KCCA FC had first given Ssimbwa a provisional suspension over a recording where he was heard saying he would bribe referees to help his team win matches.

The Lugogo side went ahead to forward the matter to the Adjudicatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Integrity Committee for investigation.

The committee found that Ssimbwa's statements fell below the standards required of a senior coach thus banning him for eight months.
