A one Innocent Katungi has dragged Mosa Court's apartment to court over injuries that were occasioned on him by a vehicle purportedly belonging to it.

Through his lawyers from KRK Advocates, Katungi stated that in November 25, 2015, while he was going about his business around William Street, he was knocked by a vehicle owned by Mosa courts.

"As a result of the said accident, the plaintiff (Katungi) suffered severe injuries including a fracture of the left pelvic bone, a broken leg and damage to his urinary system as a result of which he now has to pass urine through a tube," reads part of his plaint.

He said that immediately after the accident he was rushed to Mulago hospital where he was admitted for about two months and required to undergo a surgery to prevent further damage to the pelvis.  However, due to lack of money, he was discharged without the surgery being performed.

He stated that before the accident, he was involved in a petty trade which fetched him an average of sh60, 000 per day, which he used to spend on his family.

"As a result of being injured by the said vehicle, I suffered severe physical injury, excruciating pain and suffering, financial loss, anguish, inconvenience and distress," he said.

The driver of the vehicle, Micheal Jalalu, was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Buganda road court, for offences relating to the accident.

Katungi who filed his case in May 19, 2016, wants court to compel Mosa Courts to pay sh18.4m out of which, sh15m is to cover for his medical expenses, sh3.2m for his feeding and feeding of his caretaker, sh87, 500 as costs of the Police accident report and sh42, 500 as payment for the search fees at the registry of motor vehicles together with bank charges.

Mosa courts' apartment is owned by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) vice chairman, Moses Kigongo.

Since last year, he has been battling with his estranged wife, the president Uganda National Chamber of Commerce, Olive Zaitun Kigongo, over ownership and sale of shares of the prestigious apartments located along Shimoni road.
