The winner of the tournament will bag sh3m

Nemostars men volleyball team will be the only Ugandan side to take part in the 10th edition of the three-day AMACO International Volleyball Cup in Eldoret starting Friday.

Over 50 teams from the East African region are expected to compete at the annual tournament.

Nemostars have proved their potential to challenge in the region when they defeated Inatek 3-2 to win bronze at the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Tournament.

Nemostars will announce a fully paid up sponsorship for the trip with the help of former Uganda Volleyball Federation officials Eddy Okila and Hassan Sekajoolo before they depart for Eldoret.

"We always look forward to playing in regional tournaments because they expose our players to better volleyball and always return to Uganda with better sporting mindsets" they said.

The winner of the tournament will bag sh3m while the second and the third will bag sh1.6m and sh800000 respectively both the men and women categories.

Nemostars finished 18th overall out of 24 teams at the 34th edition of the African Volleyball Club Championship.

In arguably Nemostars' best court performance at the games, they defeated a team from the Maghreb for the first time after four years of trying.

They lost to GSU of Kenya 3-0 on Thursday as the latter held onto 17th position.
