National motocross team impresses captain Maxime Van Pee

Maxime lauded his team mates for the fighting Spirit and urged the them to stay focused for the second round which will also double as the FIM Africa Nations championship in August.

The national motocross team captain Maxime Van Pee was impressed with the team's victory against Kenya in the first round of the FIM Central Africa Motocross championship on Sunday.

Maxime lauded his team mates for the fighting Spirit and urged the them to stay focused for the second round which will also double as the FIM Africa Nations championship in August.

"We were a team and I'm impressed with the performance of the team and am confident we shall win this year's championship," The Nile Special USPA motocross rider of the year stated.

Uganda collected a total of 1217 points against 530 points for Kenya at Garuga RaceWay Park which gave the team a 687 point difference.

Arthur Blick, Ali Omar, Fatuh Kiggundu passed late fitness tests for injuries sustained during training while Asaf Natan arrived on Sunday from Isreal and joined the team after paying a fine.

Maxime Van Pee, Aviv Orland, Stav Orland and Willam Blick Jr.won the MX1, 85cc, 65cc and Pee Wee classes respectively while Kenya's Rolf Kihara, Jaiden Takkunen and Ngugi Waweru won the 50cc class,MX125 and MX2 categories.

The event which doubled as the third round of Mountain Dew National Motocross championship is co-sponsored by Mountain Dew, ICEA Insurance Group, Safe Solutions, Era Hotel and Shell Advance.
