Kobs failed in their quest to finish the season unbeaten

Betway Kobs were crowned 2015/2016 Nile Special Premier Rugby League champions on Saturday at Kyadondo Rugby Club despite a humiliating 47-22 defeat.

Kobs who held their nerve in the highly contested game to go into the halftime break trailing 16-15 broke down in the second half.

Heathens attacked Kobs right from the beginning using their lethal siblings Philip and Michael Wokorach.

Michael scored a try while Phillip dispatched all the penalties and conversions Heathens got; managing a try, four penalties and conversions as Heathens blew Kobs' hopes of finishing the season unbeaten away.

Alex Mubiru and Cox Kasigwa added a try each for Heathens while Kobs tries were scored by Brian Asaba and Joseph Aredo who also scored a penalty and conversion.

"We lost the game honourably. It was a tight game that exposed us and we are going to work on our mistakes as we prepare for the Uganda Cup and defending of the national sevens circuit," Kobs team captain Brian Odongo stated.

15 fans won tickets to watch Rugby Cranes international games against Kenya and away in the Elgon Cup and Rugby Africa 1A, against Zimbabwe in Harare and against Namibia in Uganda.

Nile Special brand manager Isaac Ssekasi told New Vision that giving out tickets is all about giving back to the fans that have stood by their brand all season.
