Corsets or waist trainers are especially famous among women who have just given birth and are desperate to regain their pre-baby body without all the hustle and bustle of sweating it out in the gym.

The hype about waist trainers has been so big among socialites on social media that ordinary Jane and Mary have been trying them out.

Corsets or waist trainers are especially famous among women who have just given birth and are desperate to regain their pre-baby body without all the hustle and bustle of sweating it out in the gym.

However, no one has come out to question the validity of these trainers.

It seems that as long as a celebrity endorses a product, there are many people willing join bandwagon of whatever is being sold, without any questions.

How safe are waist trainers you may ask?

Personally, I am against anything that constricts, deforms or applies pressure to my body. So I decided to pass this one to my more tolerant friends.

According to yahoo, waist training affects breathing, may cause acid reflux and affects the digestion of food.

Companies that manufacture waist trainers convince the buyers that the waist trainer will constrict the waist. This constriction of the stomach means that the wearer eats very little food which is thought to be an added advantage for those trying to lose weight.

Trained doctors however reveal that this is just a farce and there aren't plenty of results to be achieved from waist training. As soon as you take it off, your body bounces back to its original shape, they say.

Even the little food that is swallowed, cannot be well digested because of the immense pressure that is inserted on the stomach resulting in an acid reflux.

Furthermore, these doctors believe that waist training decreases blood flow throughout the body, causing problems with blood clots and puts pressure on your heart and lungs.
