MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit

Established in 1988, the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS is an internationally recognized center of excellence for research on HIV infection and related diseases, contributing  knowledge on the evolving epidemic, the evaluation of innovative health care options, treatment and prevention, and the development of health policy and practice in Africa and worldwide. The Unit's head offices are located at the Uganda Virus Research Institute- Entebbe Campus, and the main research activities in Masaka, Kalungu, Kampala and Wakiso Districts, including the peri-urban areas of Entebbe. The Unit is now seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill the position below;

Temporary Data Management Assistant (4 Positions)

Position Code: DMA416

Reports to: Data Manager.

Duty station: Entebbe

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration: 3months

Job Purpose: To enter and check data from studies conducted by the MRC Unit, using data entry screens provided for that purpose and to provide initial consistency checking of the data entered

Qualifications and person specifications.

• At least A'Level with credits in O'Level Mathematics and English;

• Must have two years of RECENT experience in data entry from a recognised medical or   research institution.

• Should be numerate and literate, able to recognise number and character order.

• Diploma or Degree in data / research related field desirable.

• Quick learner able to work with minimum supervision and meet tight deadlines.

• Highly organised detail oriented and self-motivated.
