Despite promising to put on a good show in Zimbabwe,the national women's cricket team failed to impress in the opening session of the tournament.

Uganda lost three of her opening four games.

Kenya beat Uganda in the their opening game by 13 runs and six wickets at the country club oval.

Uganda's troubles were not close to end as lowly rated Tanzania edged them by 7 wickets on Sunday in spite of Rita Musamali taking 1 wicket for 11 runs in 4 overs for Uganda.

Uganda's only win so far in the tournament came in their return fixture against Kenya with Mary Nalule scoring 33 runs off 53 balls, helping Uganda win by 53 runs.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe head the table, having won all their games so far With 12 points.Kenya are sitting in second place while Uganda are a  distant third with Tanzania laying bottom.

The tournament ends Tuesday with the overall winner qualifying for the 2018 global qualifiers.
