Former EC boss, Aziz Kasujja passes on

Ambassador Hajji Aziz Kasujja, the former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) has passed on.

Hajji Kasujja died on Sunday afternoon at Platinum Hospital in Wandegeya, according to close family sources.

Kasujja has for some time now been battling heart complications and was last year hospitalized in London, United Kingdom.

In 2012, Kasujja was admitted at the Mulago Heart Institute following a heart attack.

Kasujja left the Electoral Commission in 2002 after the 2001 elections he oversaw. Earlier, Kasujja served as a Commissioner at the Stephen Akabwayi headed Interim Electoral Commission.

He was later appointed Ambassador to Saudi Arabia
