Authorities in Kayunga have launched a manhunt for a traditional healer who allegedly beheaded a crime preventer attached to Kitimbwa Police Station.

Haruna Dimbwasi escaped from police after he allegedly beheaded one Sam Kajura.

Kayunga RDC Rose Birungi who also heads the district security committee said that Dimbwasi escaped as police had taken him to do a search of his shrine at Kitimbwa where Kajura's truck and head were recovered.

Meanwhile Police in Matugga, Wakiso district fired in the air to disperse angry residents who wanted to lynch a traditional healer they suspect to have sacrificed Kevin Kayemba, a 7-year-old boy.

Residents told police that Joseph Semakula was the prime suspect because the body of the deceased was found next to his shrine on one of the hills in Lwadda, Wakiso.

Police under the command of the officer in charge Tashobya Robert arrested the suspect but residents wanted to lynch him saying they were fed up of people who murder innocent children.
