I ask my colleague Mumbere to advocate for dialogue because the path of war is destructive, Emorimor says.

The paramount king of Iteso Emorimor, Augustine Osuban Lemukol, has stressed need for his colleague the king of Rwenzururu Charles Wesley Mumbere, to implore his subjects into dialogue to save the situation.
Commenting for the first time about the violence in Rwneziro region that has left over 40 people dead, Emorimor said that the incident is shocking and unfortunate to occur in this generation.
"First of all I sympathize with the kingdom of Rwezururu for the loss of their beloved ones. As a king of Iteso I ask my colleague Mumbere to advocate for dialogue because the path of war is destructive," Emorimor said.
Emorimor made the remarks Friday evening during a consultative meeting he held with the newly elected MPs and LC5s of Teso sub-region at Soroti lukiiko hall.
The post-election violence in Rwenzori sub-region has so far claimed over 45 people in the districts of Kasese and Bundibugyo.
The main objective of the meeting with the newly elected leaders was to build a common understanding among them so that as they start work, they will speak the same language without any division.
"The main reason is the unity of Iteso, we would like to have a common understanding of our problems in Teso, and have a common approach with all the elected leaders, religious and cultural so that we are able to speak with one voice in any forum regarding the problems of Iteso," Emorimor said.
He pointed out that in the 9th parliament infighting dominated the leaders a matter he said is costing the region.
"Now that you have been elected, please do not start your own fights because that is not the reason people voted you to parliament or district council," Emorimor warned.
However, the meeting was poorly attended with three quarters of the elected leaders not attending many did not even send apologies.
