A Consortium of four NGOs (DRC, ZOA, Save the Children, and CEFORD) has been selected by the European Union to implement a 3-year program in Northern Uganda under the EU Trust Fund Mechanism to support the self-reliance, resilience and social stability of displacement affected communities,

South Sudanese refugees and their host communities.

About the position

We are looking for a highly qualified Project Manager (PM) with strong experience in NGO humanitarian and development programming in refugee/host context, to manage a 3-year project in the refugee settlements in Arua, Uganda. The PM, employed by ZOA and reporting to the Programme Manager West Nile, will be expected to lead the implementation of the project on behalf of ZOA, providing leadership to the project and its activities, overseeing smooth implementation of the project, and will provide strategic leadership in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning. ZOA Uganda is looking for mature personality who is able to integrate and express Christian values in rehabilitation work. Starting date: As soon as possible

A 3-year project funded by the EU Trust Fund and located in Rhino camp. It will concentrate on improved livelihoods through better food and nutrition security, and conflict prevention through improved intercommunity dialogue at the local level.

The Manager of this multi-disciplinary project must be able to combine livelihoods, peace building and conflict prevention, including those relating to access

and use of land and resources.

Responsibilities:

  • • Plan, organize, manage and implement activities in the project
  • • Ensure monitoring and reporting of projects in line with stringent donor requirements
  • • As budget holder be responsible for financial cash flow planning and expenditure monitoring
  • • Liaise closely with the PMU Consortium Manager and other consortia partners
  • • Motivate, stimulate and supervise staff
  • • Maintains and builds relationships with all relevant actors in the programme area with focus on systematic and structural capacity strengthening of relevant counterpart structures
  • • Contribute to the preparation and planning of other ZOA projects, proposals and actions.

Requirements:

  • • Masters in Human Security, Livelihoods, Peace Building, Education or other relevant field
  • • At least 5 years successful experience in multi year project management in post conflict areas.
  • • Experience working in a refugee situation is an advantage
  • • Proven leadership qualities with effective external and internal coordination skills
  • • Self motivator, having the ability to work with limited supervision
  • • Home station is Arua Town with approximately 50% of time for travel and work in Rhino Settlement
  • • Proven report writing and M&E skills
  • • Good command of English
