Egypt offers scholarships to Ugandan university students

The scholarships cover courses in science, Arts and Islamic theology, a statement issued by the UMSC spokesperson Haji Nsereko Mutumba said.

Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt has offered 26 scholarships to Muslim students in Uganda, according to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

Muslim students who have completed O and A level can apply for these scholarships through the Secretary for Education - UMSC Headquarters, Old Kampala.

The scholarships cover courses in science, Arts and Islamic theology, a statement issued by the UMSC spokesperson Haji Nsereko Mutumba said.

It said the deadline for submitting applications is 10th April 2016. Interviews will be held on 11th April 2016 at the UMSC headquarters Old Kampala.

The UMSC Secretary for Education Sheik, Juma Bakhit commended Al Azhar University for extending scholarships to Muslim students in Uganda.

He said UMSC regards education as a core issue to Muslim unity and development and it is being promoted at all UMSC structures.
