The refugees narrated their ordeal on Wednesday at the launch of the research report on psychosocial challenges faced by women and girls in Nakivale refugee camp by the Refugee Law Project.

Some women and girls are raped on their way to school or while travelling long distances to fetch water.

Lydia Asiimwe, a psychosocial councillor with Refugee Law Project, assured the refugees that those who commit crime against them will always be prosecuted if arrested.

The RDC Isingiro, Herbert Muhangi also assured the refugees that all people in Uganda are equal before the law.
