CIC Africa Uganda Limited is a joint venture of CIC Kenya and the Co-operative movement in Uganda. The Company is operating under two subsidiaries; CIC General Insurance Company Ltd and CIC Africa Life Assurance Company Ltd. The two subsidiaries transact General and Life assurance business respectively. CIC Africa Uganda Limited is now inviting energetic, qualified, visionary & dynamic Candidates to fill the following positions:

 

1. Business Development Officer

Job Purpose: Generate revenue for the company to achieve corporate annual budgets through the development of assigned markets and channels as a source of profitable business through development of strong relationships and partnerships.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Accounts reconciliation with the brokers

• Constantly updating brokers on new and existing products

• Develop prompt quotation preparation and delivery to brokers

• Ensure compliance to the credit control policy through debt collection

• Building & developing strong strategic partnerships/ relationships within assigned market and channels

• Plan and carry out consumer education within the assigned markets and channels

• Drive profitable business for the company (New and Renewal)

• Develop and deliver excellent customer experience in the market

• Liaising with support functions to follow up on client queries and complaints

• Conduct market activations and storms in strategic locations with respective sales teams through visits or other means

• Prepare market intelligence reports on products and services

Academic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Part professional qualification in CII or AIIK

Relevant work experience: Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience

• Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications

2. Human Resource Officer

Job Purpose: Provide general day-to-day HR support across the company as part of the Group HR function in relation to all HR, Employee Records, Training and Development and other administration.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Submits employee data reports by assembling, preparing, and analyzing data e.g. Staff KPIs;

• Assisting the HRBP with generalist HR matters, including reviewing and developing relevant

Policies and Procedures and providing advice inrelation to employee performance, conduct and absence management;

• Coordinates and administers training and development programs and liaising with external training bodies as required. This includes providing support in relation to Health and Safety training records for employees;

• Preparation of documents required for management meetings and interviews;

• Managing and maintaining contracts, personnel files and other employee information including by capturing and updating employment and status change data;

• Welcomes new employees to the organization by conducting orientation & develops an induction program for them;

• Assisting with preparations for disciplinary and grievance hearings as necessary;

• Drafts contract offer letters to new staff and confirmation letters; and

• Providing confidential ad hoc advice and assistance to employees.

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field

Professional Qualifications: HR Diploma - Required

Experience: Up to 4 years of relevant experience.

3. Micro insurance officer

Job Purpose: Generate revenue for CIC Africa Life Assurance (U) Ltd to achieve its annual budgets with a total focus on MFIs and SMEs by creating, developing and maintaining strong relationships and partnerships

Primary responsibilities

a)      Building and developing strong strategic partnership / relationship with MFIs and SMEs

b) Plan and carry out consumer education within the assigned market MFI and SMEs

c) Drive profitable business for the company

d) Design and develop need based products for the MFIs and SMEs

e) Develop and deliver excellent customer experience in the market

f) Timely collection of premiums

g) Liaise with support functions to follow up on client queries and complaints

h) Conduct market activations storms in strategic locations with respective sales teams

Duties

a) Carry out performance appraisal coaching and mentoring micro-insurance staff

b) Resource allocation, staffing and leave approval

c) Participate in planning and budgeting for the department

d) Participate in various meetings and committees

Academic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in preferably in MFI, business administration or related field

Professional Qualification: ACII/ AIIU

Experience: Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience in a similar position (2) two of which at supervisory level
