Legislator Akello says culture faces girls out of school and into marriage.

Amuru Woman MP Lucy Akello has advised female educationists to visit schools in the district in order to encourage girls to stay in school.

She made the call while meeting residents of Olwal Muchaja trading centre, in Ayila village Lamogi Sub County to thank them for re-electing her as area woman MP.

On education in the area, the legislator said there are still more boys than girls in school largely because of cultural beliefs that force girls into early marriages.

Akello said she will use her next term in office to victim the area schools, talk to education stakeholders so as to address the challenges schools, including Olwal Muchaja Primary Schoool, are facing.

As a person who attained a Master's degree, the MP said she would use her own academic success to inspire area girls to complete their studies.
