The locals say the cattle destroy their land.

GULU - Leaders of Palaro sub-county in Gulu district have resolved to drive away Balalo cattle herdsmen from the area.

The decision comes after locals accused them of allowing the herdsmen to invade the area.

But LC3 chairman David Ngole said it is the residents who allow the Balalo to graze on their land.

He said there was friction between the Balalo and the people of Palaro over land destruction caused by the formers' animals.

The locals also accused the Balalo of disrespecting their cultural values, saying they bathe in the nude in the presence of members of the opposite sex.
