Kanu is expected to jet in hours to the kick-off of the return leg against Burkina Faso on Tuesday

Former Arsenal FC star Nwankwo Kanu will arrive in Uganda next week to promote young football talent for export to China.

The former Nigerian skipper has confirmed that as StarTimes Football Ambassador, he will visit kids' football academies in Mulago and Kawempe as a way to inspire young talent.

Kanu is expected to jet in hours to the kick-off of the return leg against Burkina Faso on Tuesday and according to StarTimes vice president marketing Aldrine Nsubuga.

"He wants to come and see what it is in Ugandan football. He wants to see what is special with Uganda Cranes," Nsubuga said.

Kanu, who is a UNICEF and StarTimes Football Ambassador, is expected to watch the Cranes return leg match before embarking on soccer promotion activities in Kampala.

Kanu will also have a bi-literal discussion with FUFA president Moses Magogo as part of his plan to promote African and especially Ugandan talent.

He will watch the Azam Uganda Premier League encounter between KCCA and SC Villa at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

A major heart surgery in 1999 led to set up his own charity -the Kanu Heart Foundation, an initiative that will see him visit Mulago Heart Institute with a view of supporting children there on Wednesday.
