My husband spoilt me, I don't know what I am going to do without him. I pray my children fill in that gap - widow

A requiem mass has been held at Rubaga Cathedral in Kampala for the late Chris Kassami, the former Finance PS and Secretary to the treasury.

This is the second public mass held for the deceased who died in Nairobi , Kenya last week.

On Sunday, hundreds of residents in Entebbe congregated at Bugonga parish  to pay their last respects.

The mass was attended by, among others, minister of agriculture Tracy Buchanyandi, and Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi (information and national guidance).

Other notables were Governor Bank of Uganda Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, his deputy, Louis Kasekende and Uganda National Roads Authority boss Allen Kagina.

On behalf of the bereaved  family, Apuuli Kihumuro praised Kassami for being a down to earth person irrespective of his status.

His wife of 38 years eulogised him as a loving husband.

"My husband spoilt me, I don't know what I am going to do without him. I pray my children fill in that gap," she said.

The bereaved  children said they will miss a father, mentor and selfless daddy who went an extra mile in everything. Burial takes place later today in Fort Portal.
