Museveni meets NRM MPs

Sources privy to the Entebbe State House meeting that started at around 8pm said on Saturday that Museveni gave a review of the just concluded elections and how the National Resistance Movement (NRM) performed.



President-elect Yoweri Museveni on Friday met the ruling party Caucus and discussed challenges ahead.

Sources privy to the Entebbe State House meeting that started at around 8pm said on Saturday that Museveni gave a review of the just concluded elections and how the National Resistance Movement (NRM) performed.

The meeting, which ended at about 11pm, was chaired by the Government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa and also attended by NRM Secretary General Kasule Lumumba and the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda.

Details of the meeting will be in Sunday Vision of March 13, 2016.

Meanwhile, in a press statement issued Friday, Lumumba invited NRM leaning independent MPs who were recently elected and campaigned for Museveni for presidency to meet Museveni on Tuesday next week at the National Leadership Institute (Nali) in Kyankwanzi.

Lumumba said this was in the spirit of creating harmony between the elected NRM MPs and their independent colleagues.  


Members of Parliament, it has been agreed that all independents who are NRM leaning will meet the National chairperson of NRM on Tuesday," the statement said.

Lumumba said the meeting which will start at 12:00noon will discuss the way forward on settling all matters that arose in the primaries with these independent MPs elect and will forge the way forward on a good working relationship in Parliament.
