Kansiime to deliver her all at maiden show

Local comedienne Anne Kansiime has promised her fans a full blast of everything about her, during her maiden one-man show on home stage dubbed "I am Kansiime" show set to be held March 24 at Imperial Royale Hotel. She made the promises during a press conference held at the aforesaid hotel, Wednesday morning.

"Finally, I feel I will be able to do my fans at home justice," started Kansiime. "I have been in Malaysia, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, New York, New Jersey, Australia and being a Mukiga, I might end up saying words that sound like villages in Kabale.

"But, I have been to very many places and half the time I am on stage, and receiving too much love, I feel guilty, because I really have not shown my people back at home what it is that the world is crazy about, yet you are the reason the world knows about me. So, that is the whole point of the "I am Kansiime" show. I feel I have gathered a lot of things to impress you now," said the comedienne.

Renowned for her comedy sketch skits "Don't Mess With Kansiime" and several roles in the Fun Factory comedy group, Kansiime has joked her way to the top the past 10 years tackling children's issues, family and her past personal life. She has since become one of the most recognizable comediennes in Africa. Some media outlets on the continent have referred to her as "Africa's Queen Of Comedy."

Her roles as a hard-headed child with the Fun Factory endeared her to so many fans of different generations but it is the TV skits she posted on Youtube channel that raised her profile to great heights.

For that, she has garnered a medley of international and local awards that include African Oscar Award (2015), Nollywood and African People's Choice Award (2015) African Social Awards Malaysia (2013), Lagos International Festival (2013) and AIRTEL Women of Substance (2014)

She has attempted to sing but that side of her is yet to yield attention. However, she promises to augment all her entertainment abilities on the show proper. "I will not only be a comedian that evening, I will be an entertainer. Everything about me will be exposed that evening," she promised.

The show will start at 7:00pm with a cocktail and her set will run for two hours. Not sure if there will be different acts.
