Cranes coach Micho will give Hassan Wasswa time to prove fitness

Emmanuel Kalyowa (Lweza), Sam Kintu (Express) and The Saints FC attacker Yasin Mugume are among first timers on the Uganda Cranes tour.

Uganda Cranes coach Micho Sredeojevic explained that he needs to gauge Iraqi based Hassan Wasswa's fitness as he prepares to name the senior national team squad next week.

Although he plays professional football in Iraq, Wasswa is among the 23 players Micho has unveiled for the tour of West Nile in Arua on Saturday.

Emmanuel Kalyowa (Lweza), Sam Kintu (Express) and The Saints FC attacker Yasin Mugume are among first timers on the Uganda Cranes tour.

The annual tour is also meant to strengthen the bond between the national team and the local fans in the country.  

"The tour is one of the filters we shall use for home based players as we plan to get the finest team against Burkina Faso later in the month," Micho said while responding to a question on the relevance of the regional games.

Uganda Cranes has toured and played select teams in the West, North East, Northern and Kitara regions before.
