Project Officer and Administrative Assistant at Lutheran World Federation (LWF)

Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is part of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF-DWS), an international humanitarian and development agency. LWF Uganda works to reduce people's vulnerability, supporting them to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Luuka, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts: LWF values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community and seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative development leaders for the following positions:

Job Title: PROJECT OFFICER (SGBV)

Effective date: Immediately

Duty Station: Adjumani - West Nile

Minimum qualifications and professional experience required

  • • University degree in development studies, international law, sociology, political science, leadership and management or any relevant field with authoritative knowledge of issues relating to refugee women, gender, humanitarian and development issues, and SGBV prevention and response Work experience in Results Based Management, including monitoring and reporting
  • • Experience with GBVIMS is an asset.
  • • At least 3 years' experience in humanitarian program management, community mobilization SGBV projects with strong program/technical and budget management skills.
  • • Awareness and knowledge of GBV issues, knowledge, skill and experience in participatory methods for community education and mobilization
  • • Must be able to work independently while being a strong team player with proven supervisory skills
  • • Experience of monitoring and evaluation and LWF procedures and project management is also an essential part of this position
  • • Experience in working with refugees and local communities to promote community- based structure and institutions for self-management;
  • • Experience in peace building /community security projects;

Job Title: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Effective date: 1st April

Duty Station: Kamwenge - Western Uganda

Minimum Qualifi cations:

  • • A University degree in Business Administration or HRM is essential.
  • • 3 years of professional experience in procurement processes with reputable organization
  • • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • • Good Computer skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access
  • • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in tight deadline driven environment.
  • • Ability to negotiate with vendors in a transparent manner

  • • Must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the Administration Officer
  • • Must be honest, trustworthy, respectful pay attention cultural awareness, and flexible
  • • Ability to initiate and complete assignments under demanding circumstances with minimal supervision
  • • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • • Demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as individually;
