Kampala Regional League: Kyebando stretch unbeaten run

The hosts started strong and often troubled the visiting side. And their bright start saw them take the lead in the 15th minute.

Oscar Tiago scored twice as Kyebando FC came from behind to win 3-2 away to Kisugu United in the Kampala Regional League at Kisugu on Sunday.

Alex Semuyaba's goal secured victory Kyebando FC victory to maintain their unbeaten run in the five matches played in the second round.

Kisugu's two goals came through Jumas Okech.

The hosts started strong and often troubled the visiting side. And their bright start saw them take the lead in the 15th minute and ensured that first half ended at 1-0.

It could been worse for Kyebando in that opening half and they will have thank their goalkeeper Ben Sesazi for his brilliant saves.

And the visitors returned for second half more willing to level the score. It came 11 minutes after restart when an Arnold Sembuya shot deflected off Tiago and went into the net. Ten minutes later, Kyebando were in front for the first time in the game courtesy of a Sembuya strike.

It was swift demolition as the home fans saw their side ripped apart with a third goal through Tiago - completing his brace - from a penalty kick after he was bundled in the area.

The attacker is in impressive form and has scored five goals in the last two games, bringing his tally to eight in the league. He is also the top scorer for Kyebando.

Five minutes to the end of play, Kisugu grabbed a second through Okech but the visitors held on to secure an important victory.

Kyebando now lead the group with 32 points and are tied with City Lads but have a better goal (six) difference.


Reactions


Kyebando FC head coach Sam Kawalya thanked the boys for the great work and efforts put up in the second half to come from behind to win the game. "If we go on playing like that we shall join the FUFA Big League next season. This was a tough game to win."

Moses Adochi Kisugu, United FC head coach was not happy with the referee's decisions on the pitch. "We lost the game because we did not utilize our chance but let's focus on the other games."
