6kg Shell gas hits market

A 6kg cylinder, with a burner and grill has been introduced on Ugandan market.

Dubbed "Ka-portable", this new cylinder is a clean, safe, fast, convenient and affordable cooking solution.  It costs sh200,000 and refilling sh57,000.

Vivo Energy Uganda sales manager, Edward Walugembe, the  6kg cylinder with a burner targets the youth who do less cooking and vendors who have to warm food before serving it to their clients.

Evironmentalists argue that if Uganda increases its gas consumption for cooking, it would control deforestation. According to NEMA, Uganda loses up to 80,000 hectares, of forest annually.
