Vote a responsible, accountable mayor - Nsibambi

Nsibambi said there should also be a close working relationship between the mayor and the accounting officer

Prof. Apolo Nsibambi, the former prime minister of Uganda has said the next Kampala City Lord Mayor should be one who is responsible and accountable to the people.

Nsibambi, who was speaking to New Vision after casting his vote at St Rachael Bulange Church of Uganda polling station in Lungujja, said there should also be a close working relationship between the mayor and the accounting officer.

"Kampala should have a mayor who is accountable to the people, responsible and ensure that services are given to the people," He said.

 

 

He was accompanied by his wife Esther Nsibambi to the polling station.

This is the second phase of 2016 Ugandan election in which Local Government five chairpersons and councilors are being voted.
