Violet Akurut Adome trounced Alupo in the NRM party primaries with a margin of over 3000 votes.

Preliminary results trickling in indicate that some ministers are trailing in the parliamentary elections held Thursday.

Some of the victims include internal affairs minister Rose Akol who was appointed to the portfolio on January 3, 2016 was trailing. Her education counterpart Jessica Alupo was also struggling to retain Katakwi woman seat respectively.

Violent Akurut Adome trounced Alupo in the NRM party primaries with a margin of over 3000 votes.

Information and national guidance minister, Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, was reportedly trailing FDC's Fred Turyamuhweza in the race for Rujumbura in the western district of Rukungiri district.
