Kenyan women steal, hide milk in underwear

Even with the camera evidence, the two women put up a spirited defence, insisting they did not steal the milk.

 

Police in Iganga have arrested two Kenyan women for stealing tinned milk worth sh20,000 from a supermarket in eastern Uganda.

Footage from the CCTV camera inside the supermarket showed the two - Sophie Namyemba, 30 and Rose Ayume, 39 - stuff tinned milk inside their underwear.

The supermarket is located along the main highway in Iganga municipality.

Even with the camera evidence, the two women put up a spirited defence, insisting they did not steal the milk.

Eyewitnesses said the two women entered the supermarket like any other customers, and moved around checking out the items - only they haboured other ideas.

 The officer in charge of CID at Iganga Central Police Station, Sophie Neboshi, said the two are to soon appear before court to answer charges of theft.

Their case has been registered at that very police station.
