Farouk Miya joins Belgian giants Standard Liege

Miya was voted Footballer of the Year at FUFA awards in December after guiding Vipers to the Azam Uganda Premier League title

Belgian heavyweights Standard Liege have completed the signing of Vipers' forward Farouk Miya in sh1.3b ($400,000) deal.

The Cranes skipper is expected to join the Belgian side after the ongoing Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament in Rwanda.

Miya has made 49 appearances scoring 20 goals for Vipers since joining from St Mary's Kitende Secondary School midway the 2013/14 season.

The former KJT player was voted Footballer of the Year at FUFA awards in December after guiding Vipers to the Azam Uganda Premier League title.

He has also been in sparkling form for national side scoring thirteen goals in 2015 alone.
