Rayco Garcia is back in town! The former Barcelona midfielder returned to Uganda —not to organize another Legends match at the moment—but to complete his football development plans in the country.

For starters, Garcia (inset) has just brokered a trial stint for Cranes midfielder Geoffrey Kizito with Spanish La Liga side Malaga.

Kizito will travel on Monday to Malaga.

And if Kizito succeeds, he will become the first Ugandan to play in the highly rated European league that boasts two of the best players in world football, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garcia broke the news to New Vision Wednesday.

"I have just completed his paper work and that includes working on his visa. He will travel on Monday and hopefully succeed. I believe this could be the start of better things to come for Ugandan football. This could open doors for the other players."

Malaga, who are famous for their blue and white striped shirts, are owned by Qatari investor Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al Ahmed Al Thani.

Arsenal midfielder Santi Carzola, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Martin Demichelis have all played for Malaga before.

They are currently 12th in the 20-team league.

In Vietnam, where he turns out for Quang Ninh, Kizito has been high-regarded for his tactical intelligence, and ability to read the game from his deep-lying position.

"He is tactical and understands the game well," Garcia stated.

Garcia was the architect behind the historic Barcelona Legends match that was organized in the country last December.

Apart from pushing through Kizito's trial stint at Malaga, the Spaniard is here to lay foundation for the Rayco Garcia Football Academy.
