This follows her tremendous performance both on and off court

If there was any one anxiously waiting to be ushered into the New Year, then it must have been the She Cranes and National Insurance Corporation (NIC) goal shooter Peace Proscovia.

At the end of last year, the 27-year old signed a two year contract with Loughborough Lightning Netball Club in England where she will be playing professional netball on top of her scholarship for a Master's Degree of Science in Marketing.

This follows her tremendous performance both on and off court during her four-month trial contract with the same club in the English Super- League last season.

"I was happy after signing the new contract but I opted to keep the excitement to myself until I had the visa in my possession," Proscovia said.

She added, "Playing professional and having to study for a Masters abroad has always been my dream and I thank God for bringing both opportunities at the same time."

On December 8, 2015, Loughborough Lightning announced their squad ahead of the Super league season starting January 30 and Proscovia was the only African called back on the team leaving out South Africans Maryka Holtzhausen and Jade Clarke.

"If it's true that they looked at our performance both off and on court, then I am sure I tried so hard to be the best in both fields," Proscovia said as she recalled the massive support from the kids and fans during the games last year.

The 2014 Nile Special/USPA Sports Personality is scheduled to depart on Thursday to join other 14 teammates ahead of the season kicker.

All players on the team are entitled to accommodation, allowances and salary that Proscovia can't wait to enjoy.
