But it is URA striker Robert Ssentongo who tops the goal-scoring charts.

Azam Uganda Premier League

Robert Ssentongo came top of the scoring charts with nine goals as the first round of the Azam Uganda Premier League came to an end on Tuesday.

The URA striker was part of the scorers as his side thrashed Lweza 4-0 at Mehta stadium, Lugazi.

Saidi Kyeyune, Frank Kalanda and a Fred Okot own goal helped URA register their sixth win this season. Ssentongo has moved a goal clear of Express' Caesar Okhuti.

The tax collectors moved from seventh position on the table to go joint fourth with SC Villa at 24 points although the former have a better goal difference.

Despite a goalless draw with Soana away at Kavumba, KCCA (29 points) maintained their position at the top, also helped by another barren draw between Villa and Police at Nakivubo.

Any winner in the Nakivubo game would have challenged the leaders depending on the goals scored. Vipers regained second position with a 3-1 humbling of Simba at Bombo.

Farouk Miya, Patrick Sembuya and Erisa Sekisambu each had a goal for the Buikwe side while Aggrey Kirya scored a consolation for Simba.

Police, with 26 points, dropped to the third place. At Wankulukuku, Express continued on their recovery path as Tony Odur scored a penalty for his side to beat JMC Hippos 1-0.

The Red Eagles, now at 23 points, moved from eighth to sixth position. Elsewhere, Anthony Bongole was on target again as Bright Stars beat BUL 1-0 away at Kakindu Stadium, while at the Njeru Technical Centre, Sadolin Paints defeated The Saints 1-0.

At Namboole, Maroons played to 1-all draw with Sports Club Victoria University.
