NAIROBI - Hosts Ethiopia came from behind to hold Tanzania to a 1-1 draw to qualify for the Cecafa Challenge Cup quarter-finals in Awassa on Saturday.
An own goal in the 90th minute by Said Mohamed cancelled out Simon Msuwa's opener eight minutes into the second half, to send the Walia Antelopes into the last eight as one of the three best qualifiers from Group A.
The two sides will meet again in the quarters in Addis Ababa on Monday.
Former champions Uganda edged Burundi 1-0 to top Group B and hand arch-rivals and holders Kenya a lifeline after staring at an early elimination following their 3-1 defeat to Zanzibar on Friday.
Kenya finished second on goal difference over Burundi to book their place in the knockout stages.
Kenya will play Rwanda in Addis Ababa on Tuesday.
